Hot Stone Massage Therapy

Book your hot stone massage

How is it different than a spa treatment?

We do not simply place the stones on patient. The stones are used to massage with. Our therapeutic hot stone massage therapy is provided by our RMTs.

What is hot stone massage therapy?

Hot stone massage therapy is an age-old treatment with the addition of heat for a modern twist. Water-heated, smooth stones are placed strategically on the body on key points—with or without pressure—for the ultimate in relaxation and pain relief.

What are the benefits of hot stone massage?

The heat from the stones helps warm the muscles and bring circulation to the area being treated. This can be beneficial in reducing muscle tension, pain and discomfort.  The firmness of the stones can allow the therapist to work more deeply in a way that may not be possible using hands only. The warmth of the stones often feels comforting to people who tend to feel cold.

How hot are the stones?

Though we call it hot stone massage, the stones are actually ‘very warm.’ The therapist is holding the stones during the treatment which ensures they are at a safe temperature to use on your body. That said, different parts of the body may feel more sensitive to heat.  In this case, inform the therapist and they can cool the stones down before continuing or can stop using them for the duration of the treatment. The use of hot stones is meant to enhance your treatment experience. You are encouraged to offer your feedback at anytime if you need your treatment adapted.

Does my insurance cover hot stone massage?

Our hot stone massage therapy is provided by our RMTs. Thus, it is eligible for insurance coverage. Please contact your insurance provider if you have any questions regarding your policy.
